ABOUT FOXY STUDIOS

Pictures from the past, real and imagined.

Foxy Studios is an independent photographic art project built from two kinds of images: original family and travel photographs from the 1960s and 1970s, and contemporary imagined photographs made to live beside them.

The real archive includes prints, processing envelopes, album covers, handwritten notes and the backs of photographs. When those objects give us a date or place, we use it. When they do not, we do not pretend to know more than the archive tells us.

The imagined photographs are not presented as documentary evidence. They are contemporary AI-assisted images created to evoke the visual language, settings and emotional shorthand of old travel and family photography. They are labeled as imagined.

The point is the juxtaposition. A family album records only a fraction of a life. The rest survives in memory, inference and invention.

Original means original.

Real photographs may be cropped, rotated, scaled or placed inside simulated print frames for presentation. Faces, people and photographic content are not regenerated or replaced.

Independent project.

Foxy Studios is an independent photographic art project. It is built from the author's archived collection of photographs, as well as the dreams and fantasies of a time long gone. All Foxy Studios works are original creations, real and imagined.
